Nürburgring Nordschleife REAL vs Movie footage of the Nismo #Nissan GT-R GT3 crash that happened at VLN race 1 (28.03.2015).

In 2015, Jann Mardenborough crashed his Nissan GT-R Nismo at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, resulting in a fatality for a spectator. The incident occurred during the VLN Endurance Championship race at the Flugplatz section of the circuit. Mardenborough’s car vaulted over the trackside fencing and landed on its roof in a spectator area. The accident happened in the Quidelbacher Hohe – Flugplatz section of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Mardenborough, who was a GT Academy champion and had competed in various racing series, was reportedly upset by the incident. He was released from hospital after being checked, along with two injured spectators. Nissan Nismo issued a statement expressing their deep sympathies to the families of the deceased and injured.

At the end of 2015, the Nürburgring management decided to change 800 meter of the surface of the track around section „Quiddelbacher Hohe“, to prevent cars from lifting of the ground.
